Coatings

In this day and age it is essential to produce hight class quality with the best of tools in an economic way. The critical points are always the finish of the cut and the wear/ lifetime of the blade. Combined with an optimum of machine parameters represents this our daily challenge.

Physical Vapor Deposition: means a vapour-phase deposition technique which creates a lot of important advantages.
  • Coating temperatures between 200-500°C (guarantees dimensional accuracy and hardness of the blade)
  • layer thickness: accurate on the µ with equal dispensation
  • ecological friendly production by residue coating on the most advanced coating plants

TiCN – Titan-Carbo-Nitrid – Der Spezialist »blau-grau«

TiCN

This layer with a hardness of 3.000 HV is ideally suited for the cutting of stainless steels. With a layer thickness of 2-4 µ and a low friction coefficient, this layer provides for an abundant increase of the tool
life-time in presence with plenty of cooling lubrication.

TiN – Titan-Nitrid – Der bewährte Allrounder »gold«

In machining undisputed the most frequently used coating. With a layer thickness of 1-4 µ, excellent sliding properties and a remarkable hardness of approx. 2.500 HV, this layer can help with many problems.

TiALN – Titan Aluminium Nitrid – Der Superhartstoff »aubergine«

TiALN

For extreme applications in which a minimization of the cooling lubricant or the complete renunciation must be ensured. With an impressive hardness of 3.300 HV, with a layer thickness of 1-5 μ and a very low friction coefficient, this layer is indispensable in many applications.

CrN – Chrom Nitrid – Der abriebfeste Hartstoff »silber«

CrN

This layer has been designed for the machining of plastics and non-ferrous metals, in particular copper, titanium, nickel and their alloys. With a layer thickness of 3-7 μ, excellent sliding properties and a hardness of approx. 2.100 HV, this layer does not have any microcracks in the surface and no edge construction.

CUT 2000 – Der glatte Allrounder »blauschwarz«

For wet and dry machining of low and high-alloyed, as well as stainless steels, gray cast iron, non-ferrous metals and plastics. With an exceptional hardness of 3.200 HV and its ceramic-like surface, this layer is insensitive to abrasive wear and also has good sliding properties and low heat conduction.

HARCHROMIUM PLATING (HV)

REKORD® hardchromium plated saw blades are appointed to use in the food-industry, as well as in the woodworking industry. The benefit of the hardchromium plating in the wood-industry is the hardness of the saw blade tips and the minimized friction coefficient, which avoids sticking of resin. It also avoids the resetting of the teeth-setting. For the food-industry it is essential to use rust-protected saw blades, which the hardchromium plating is granting.

Different manners of Harchromium plating are:

  • HV- single hardchromium layer
  • DHV – double hardchromium layer
